3 Quick Wins - Think “Can Do”
Sep 09, 2026
I’m sure we’ve all experienced a service situation where the answer feels like:
“Sorry, we can’t do that.”
In property management, there will always be things you can’t do.
But before jumping to “no”, ask:
“How can we make this happen?”
It’s a small shift in mindset — but it can change the way you approach everyday situations.
A landlord wants an earlier inspection.
Instead of: “We don’t have anything available until next week.”
Try: “Let me see what I can move around and what options we have.”
A tenant has an urgent maintenance issue.
Instead of: “You’ll have to wait for the tradesperson.”
Try: “Let me see who we can get onto this and I’ll keep you updated.”
A landlord wants something outside your usual process.
Instead of immediately explaining why it can’t be done:
“Let’s look at what we can do.”
That doesn’t mean saying yes to everything.
It means looking for the best possible solution before deciding there isn’t one.
Because sometimes, the difference between a frustrating service experience and a great one is simply the way we respond when something doesn’t go to plan.
Don’t start with “NO.”
Start with “HOW CAN WE?”
