Talent Starts The Process. Structure Builds Performance. – Team View!

Sep 21, 2026

We had a huge response to last week’s brief on why leaders must stop relying on raw talent and start building operational structure.

Many leaders reached out agreeing with the premise. But just as many agents and property managers messaged me asking: “Michael, what does this actually look like from our side of the desk?”

And I had a lot of agents and property managers come back to me with a fair question:

“Michael, what does that actually look like from our side of the desk?”

Here’s the thing.

Structure isn’t about being controlled. It’s about giving yourself a better way to operate.

For a sales agent, that might mean protecting a 90-minute prospecting block every morning so your pipeline doesn’t depend on whether you feel motivated that day.

For a property manager, it might mean creating clear blocks for maintenance, communication and renewals so you’re not spending the entire day jumping from one fire to the next.

Talent will always matter.

But talent without structure can leave you riding the highs and lows — busy one week, overwhelmed the next, and wondering where the next opportunity is coming from.

Structure gives your talent somewhere to work.

When you know what you need to do, when you need to do it and what “good” looks like, you free up the mental space to focus on what you do best — looking after your clients and creating great outcomes.

So don’t think of structure as something that restricts you.

Think of it as the tracks that allow your talent to run.
